BST MOTORIZED AWNING
Designers and engineers worked together to blend state of the art technologies in today’s BST Motorized Retractable Awnings.
STANDARD COMPONENTS
FRAME: The awning’s structural strength and durability come from injection-cast aircraft aluminum components with powder white enamel finish and a 11/2”x11/2” steel torsion bar. The advantage of injection-cast molding of these components is that it creates systems with consistent quality and unsurpassed strength, unmatched by any other brand of awning on the market today. All frame parts are vinyl coated and hardware is 316 stainless steel.
SUPPORT ARM SYSTEM: The arms are 1”x 2” in size on all sizes of awnings. They are designed to fold away flat against the wall against the rear torsion bar and to open to any position between closed and fully extended through the utilization of a stainless steel spring and cables coated in vinyl sleeves. In the event of unexpected inclement weather, this system is engineered to withstand greater upward or downward force from wind (up to 20 miles per hour) and rain.
MOTOR: Incorporates a quality imported high torque tubular motor with electronic controls (UL approved). Because they are sealed, they require no maintenance for years of trouble-free service. Our electric motors are fully contained within the fabric roller tube of the awning, combining the advantages of low noise, durability and safety. The same high quality unit is utilized on all sizes of our awnings. The motor has a 7’ electrical cord to that is connected to the Wall Mounted Control Panel.
FABRIC: 18oz - 1000 Denier fabric - 100% Acrylic in 8 vivid styles. Protects against harmful UVA/UVB rays, scratches, are water-proof, mildew-resistant, flame-retardant and fade resistant. Cleaning although required, frequency is dependent on your local environment. Proper care and cleaning will extend the usable life of your awning.
MANUAL OVERRIDE: Included manual override Easy-Gear-Drive with 4’ hand crank poles. This feature allows the awning to be extended or retracted manually in the event of a power failure.
REMOTE CONTROLS: Provide effortless, push button operation (with the two included handheld remote controls) allowing the awning to be stopped at any desired position. With just a touch of the remote control button the awning will completely extend or retract and stop automatically. The activation signal is sent using a radio frequency. This feature offers the advantage that the remote does not have to be used in line of sight of control panel and is operable within 20’ of the control panel.
WALL MOUNTED CONTROL PANEL: Internal/external wall panel that receives radio frequency signals from the remote controls and also includes push buttons that opens and closes the awning. It includes a 6’ cord to be plugged into a 120V electrical outlet. In addition it provides a connection for the interface of the optional Wind Sensor Kit.
OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
WIND SENSOR KIT: The optional Wind Sensor Kit (included in the ELITE Package) can be added to our motorized awning. It automatically closes the awning when unexpected damaging winds occur while the awning is unattended. The Wind Sensor wind speed sensitivity is owner adjustable. It is uncased in clear plastic to be unobtrusive when installed on exterior wall or soffit. It is powered by the wall mounted control panel (no batteries required). When the optional Wind Sensor is installed and activated it helps to eliminate damage caused by high wind gusts.
PROTECTIVE HOOD: The new optional Protective Hood (included in the ELITE Package) is made of double walled honeycombed reinforced FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) material. Unlike canvas or plastic covers sold or included with other awnings, you do not have to install and remove our hood when the need arises. The BST Protective Hood is rigid, sturdy and permanently installed with the included full hood end caps so it can be left on year round protecting your investment from inclement weather. With the optional Protective Hood you do not have to remove your awning in the winter months. Your awning components, fabric and mechanism are protected from wind, sleet, ice and snow when the awning is closed under the hood.
SOFFIT MOUNTS: Made of cast aluminum and coated with a powder white enamel finish these optional light weight yet sturdy mounts are intended to be used to mount the awning to a roof overhang when there is a protrusion on the house wall such as a bay window extension that prevents mounting onto a flat wall.
ROOF MOUNTS: Made of zinc coated heavy steel angle iron with zinc coated hardware to provide years of a rust free operation under the most sever environmental conditions. These optional mounts are intended to be used when the space above doors or windows and the roof overhang (soffit) is less then 7.5”. With the use of the included turnbuckle the angle of the mounts can be adjust from the flattest roofs to those with the steepest pitch.
